Vocab List: Fall #5

1) Venomous: (of a person or their behavior) full of malice or spite.
        ---I find people venomous when they talk behind your back

2) Stolid: calm, dependable, and showing little emotion or animation.
      ---It surprises me how my classmates can be so stolid taking the exam.

3) Hypnotized: capture the whole attention of (someone); fascinate
       ---The singer hypnotized the audience with her beautiful voice.

4) Suspended: temporarily prevent from continuing or being in force or effect
       --- The principal suspended the student for starting a fight twice a day.

5) Transformed: make a thorough or dramatic change in the form.
      --- In the movie, the cars transformed into robots.

6) Accuse: charge (someone) with an offence or crime.
      --- My sister accused me of eating her food.

7) Anticipate: regard as probable; expect or predict.
      --- I anticipated that this movie would be great.

8) Fringe: threads left loose or formed into tassels or twists.
      --- The tassel on a graduation cap is an example of a fringe.

9) Melancholy: A feeling of pensive sadness, typically with no obvious cause.
      --- AN air of melancholy surrounded the class.

10) Earnestly: showing sincere and intent conviction.
      --- An earnest students is a students who never gives up.

11) Dissolve: solid becoming a liquid to form a solution.
      --- The mentos can be dissolved in coke or soda.

12) Aggravate: make a problem more worse or serious.
     --- My friends aggravate a lot since they enjoy watching or being in drama.

13) Illuminate: to light up.
      --- The flashlight illuminated the room.

14) Capillary: blood vessels.
      --- In Phy/ Anatomy, I learned about the neurons and capillaries working together.

15) Proboscis: The nose of a mammal, especially when it's long.
      --- The proboscis of an elephant can reach food from a tree.
